RAW’s New Focus
Building on the incredible growth achieved over the last few years including a staggering 60% growth in the last financial year, RAW has focused the business on its core expertise of pollution response and sustainable remediation systems.
To ensure RAW commits all its resources to the development of its national office network throughout the UK and Ireland as well as the growth of unique remediation technologies, we will be ceasing to compete in the traditional brownfield 'Consultancy' market place; choosing to work with our Private and Public Sector clients and their chosen Consultants and enable them to meet their brownfield or environmental obligations through our pragmatic, cost effective and sustainable remediation services.
At the same time we are streamlining our structure and operations to focus on efficiency, technical development & support. Our new dedicated sales and marketing functions, staffed by some of our most experienced staff will be tasked with making sure we deliver the highest level of service.
Our Technical Development Forum will be available to all clients using our skills in areas such as contaminant fate and transport modelling, risk mitigation and hydrocarbon forensics whilst continuing to assist our clients in developing problem specific solutions for the more challenging pollution issues.

Just to let you all know that both teams entered for this years Wateraid Walk completed the 30 mile course in just about one piece. This years medal for heroic effort in the face of severe pain goes to…..Chris Davis whose knees will probably ache until next year when, I have no doubt, he'll do it all again!
A great all round team effort though and we smashed last years time of over 13 hours to complete the course (and an extra mile due to a navigational crisis) to finish in around about 12.25 hrs….

We've managed to raise about £1500 so far so a big thank you to everyone who has sponsored us to date and for those that haven't managed to get round to it yet...the sponsorship page stays open for a month or so and we still have to reach that £2000 total!

RAW Group are again participating in the annual Severn Trent Mountain Challenge to raise money for Water Aid http://www.wateraid.org/uk/get_involved/events/walking_climbing_trekking/mountain_events/3597.asp. This year two teams from RAW will be taking part and the challenge is a 30 mile walk up hill and down dale in Derbyshire and takes place on Saturday 12 July. We have a self imposed target of £2000 so please don't hesitate to give generously to the cause!
A new office in Scotland
RAW has opened a new office in Linlithgow, just outside Edinburgh, Scotland. This office, which is headed up by Angus Niven, has been set up to service existing insurance, construction and contractor clients in Scotland as well as assist local buisnesses and industry manage their environmental liabilities. Angus has 12 years experience in designing and undertaking geotechnical and environmental investigations, primarily concentrating on brownfield sites. He also has 5 years experience as a regulator having been employed by NHBC. In recent years Angus has concentrated on commercial activities including designing and costing some major remediation projects in the North of England. The Edinburgh office is the ninth in RAW’s growing network of UK and Irish offices. With the UK and Ireland’s largest dedicated network of specialist Response offices, our clients can be assured that they will have a local, rapid and cost effective service with RAW experts on site.
